Vancouver is such a small city in area at 115 Sq. Km. or 44 Sq. Mi. Perhaps over a century ago Vancouver could have annexed Burnaby and Richmond, but there was a lack of vision to have a big city in backwater BC. The UEL would at least enable the city to gain some land area. Then Vancouver could be a little closer in size towards Boston and SF. Both of those cities have a land area of less than 50 Sq. Mi.
