Unfortunately, Vancouver has such an imposed watered down or scaled back approach to the size of things. 

A 3 lane Lions+Gate+Bridge that still has no BRT, truck and LRT tunnel next to it. 

The shortsighted YVR-Canada+Line. Instead of designing longer stations that could accommodate 5 car trains, the 50 m stations can only accommodate 2.5 car trains, some day.
